Technikum – former Tengelmann area

A historical location

The TECHNIKUM, built in 1966 as a fruit store on the Tengelmann company premises and converted into a modern event location for the 100th anniversary of the site, provides perfect conditions for events in Mülheim an der Ruhr. With its irresistible industrial flair, the ambience inspires as a setting for almost every occasion.

Before the event area of up to 3,800 square meters could be considered for events, the building, which was actually approved for demolition, first had to be thoroughly renovated. New roofs including a photovoltaic system, a facade with many glass elements and the CO-free geothermal system are now turning a historic building into an event location.

Preserving an old building, giving it a new use and redesigning it to be energy-efficient using the latest technologies – a special form of sustainability.
